Child Parent Relationship Therapy

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a special 10 session play based parent training programme (individual/group) that teaches you the skills to strengthen your relationship with your child by using 30-minute play time once in a week.

Enter into children’s play and you will find the place where their minds, hearts and souls meet ― Virginia Axline

Who is it for?

Child-Parent Relationship Therapy is for all parents (with children upto 13 years of age), looking to create emotionally nurturing ways to connect with their children.

How does it help you manage child behaviour problems?

Most parents try to stop the negative behaviours rather than understanding the child. In special play times, you will learn to build a different kind of relationship with your child, and your child will discover that s/he is understood, and accepted just as s/he is; is capable and important.

When children experience a relationship in which they feel accepted, understood, and cared for, they play out many of their problems, and release their feelings, tensions and many burdens in the process. Through this process your child will discover his/her own strengths and learn to assume greater self responsibility.

  • How your child feels about him/herself will make a significant difference in his/her behaviour.
  • CPRT is a well researched parenting model with numerous studies investigating its effectiveness. It has been proven to be effective in reducing children’s behaviour problems and decreasing parental stress.
