Hello!
I’m Dr Kusum Gulati Chawla. I’m a psychologist and a psychotherapist. I have received my trainings at Delhi University; AIIMS, New Delhi; and University of North Texas, USA.
I have completed MA and PhD in Psychology, courses in Counselling Supervision, Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy. I’ve also had the privilege of studying Masterclass in Advanced Psychotherapy Skills and the Art of Psychotherapy with Irvin Yalom.
Besides my present practice in Delhi and Noida, I have also served reputed institutions as child counselor in the past and have been engaged in higher education, teaching undergraduate and post graduate courses in counselling and psychology.
I offer client-centered treatment for a broad range of psychological, emotional and relational difficulties from an existential-humanistic orientation; generally with a trauma informed lens, and frequently integrating tools and techniques from expressive arts, neuroscience and attachment and relational theories.

Life can be hard. Things don’t always workout the way we hope, want, or expect. Despite this, I believe it is possible for us all to pursue meaningful goals, individually and along with the people we love, in ways that resonate with our deepest values.
I deeply believe that a person is not someone who needs to be fixed, but rather is a unique individual who has the potential to resolve the concerns arising in day-to-day functioning, and to lead productive and fulfilling life.
Every person is born with this capacity and an inner direction to achieve health and happiness and flourish; though sometimes one may need more support and help in making sense of his experiences and bounce back from setbacks. In my work, I actively strive to create a favourable-accepting environment that facilitates this inner strength in my clients, to cope, shift, adjust and grow – like a changing constellation through a kaleidoscope!
I seek to help my clients gain greater awareness of how this constellation of their personalities, like their pleasures, worries, thrills and anxieties all come together to form their experience of living.
If we work together, I will be a warm, active presence, collaborating closely with you to better understand these places that catch you, and the unwelcome, unhealthy patterns you fall into. To help you develop a sense of wholeness – a sense of well-being. So, the goal is not just changing a problematic behaviour but a richer fuller life.
