Online counselling can save a lot of your commute time. In fact, even when you are stationed in another part of the world, it is an easily accessible and convenient way to seek help.
- You will need to ensure an internet connection with good band-width.
- Appointments will be given on a weekly basis. These consultations will be charged on the same fee as in-person sessions. Payment will have to be made prior to appointment.
- In case internet based services are not found to be appropriate for your needs and I assess that an in person meeting is more appropriate, I will recommend the same or provide you with referrals.
When should you seek traditional (in person) mental health treatment rather than online counselling?
- If you have serious substance abuse and/or dependence.
- If you are having thoughts of harming yourself (e.g. suicidal thoughts) or harming someone else (e.g. violent thoughts toward others) or psychotic symptoms (you believe you are losing touch with reality). Please seek psychiatric help or emergency services immediately
